What your $$$ can buy:

- Maasai school
In the Maasai land there are very few schools. In one particular area there are none; so we have started a day-care/school for 3-8-year olds.
The running cost is only $200/month

- Food projects
There are a few patients who are on the brink of starvation. Normally we help our patients to help themselves; i.e. lend money for a sewing machine so they can make a living; but there are some cases where this just isn’t possible. In such cases we buy food parcels every month and pay for help in cooking and cleaning etc. At the moment the figure is 70$/month

- Microloans
In order to get aids victims back on their feet we provide them with microloans. This can be a very small loan of $30 to sell bananas to something more substantial like growing chickens, which cost $400 to get going.
Budget for microloans is $300/month

- Outreach clinics
Currently we run 12 outreach clinics. These are often surprisingly expensive to run, as we pay organisers, translators, rent, petrol/taxi etc. Depending on the clinic the cost on average is $30/day
