Xenon Proving
Xenon is the fifth noble gas, element 54, and the next step in my investigation of this amazing group of elements. This remedy was proved in 2012 by the Dynamis School, Stroud, UK.
It was a pleasant experience for some and unpleasant for others, which matches the dual nature of this remedy. On the one hand, many people experienced the despair of a poorly spent life, a hopeless journey coming to its inevitable, sad ending, with no possibility of rectification. This idea is apparent in the proving as a whole and amplified in Camilla’s mini proving. On the other hand, there is a theme of renewal, second chances, changing direction, and reclaiming one’s mission in life. The end of the road versus navigating a new road – these two opposing themes represent the main conflict of Xenon. To highlight this issue, we may view this conflict through three symbolic lenses: Saturn Return, the Fifth Day of Creation, and the Fifth Dimension.
We may think of element 54 as representing age 54, which is often a time of reassessment, of dealing with mistaken choices such as marriage, profession, or attitude; a time in which we might either accept and resign, or choose again, reclaiming authority over our lives. 54 is two years before the second Saturn Return, a period of difficult transition into a stuck old age, or conversely an opportunity to reclaim our journey, revisiting old issues with the wisdom and experience accumulated, realigning with one’s higher purpose in life.
The second symbol, the Fifth Day of Creation, accords with my previous findings, in which the first four noble gases: Helium, Neon, Argon, and Krypton, bear a perfect relationship to the corresponding Biblical Days of Creation. On the Fifth Day, God creates first the fish of the sea and then the fowl of the sky. Both fish and birds are prominent in the proving. But, while fish swim under the water with little visibility, and are subject to currents, group forces, and predators, birds retain a much higher degree of overview and freedom, and feed on the fish. These two species symbolize a life of diminished freedom and choice contrasted with a life of higher perspective and autonomy.
The last symbol relates to the Fifth Dimension. In my books on the noble gases, I have demonstrated a distinct relationship between the nobles and the corresponding first four physical dimensions: line, surface, volume, and time. There are several schools of thoughts on the nature of the subsequent dimension. According to some authorities,1 the Fifth Dimension unfurls a multitude of possibilities in time – a variety of pathways that may be influenced by our own choices.
In other words, time is free to take new directions, allowing us to perceive and act on the differences between our previous world and newly created ones. As with all nobles, we may either recline inertly, or align with the truth of our mission, our here and now, rebirthing through new choices. X for X-over: just what we need at age 54.
All the above means that Xenon should prove an excellent remedy for those who, after a long, arduous and sometimes meaningless journey, are paralysed in the inertness of life. But, naturally, element 54 is much more than that, so please read on. And in one possible future, I may provide further thoughts in the book that Xenon deserves.
Meanwhile, I thank the noble provers and supervisors of Dynamis School UK, Class of 2012, and the hospitality of our host and colleague, Mani Norland. Special thanks to the tireless Xenonites: Sally Bryant, for first collation and edit, and Anne Baker, for final edit and for keeping our provings fresh and precise. Finally, to my wife, Camilla, for keeping me young through choosing again.
